Brennan Marilla previously served as the vice president of U.S. Sales and director of global marketing Endovascular for Medtronic Cardiovascular. In this role, Brennan Marilla initiated product development and marketed Medtronic’s Endurant stent graft used to treat abdominal aortic aneurysms.

An abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) is an enlargement of the aorta, the artery that runs through the center of the chest and abdomen, supplying the body with blood. An aneurysm can be life-threatening if left untreated. The main causes of this condition are hardening of the arteries, high blood pressure, and tobacco use.

Medtronic’s Endurant AAA Stent Graft System is a wire-framed fabric tube used to reduce pressure on the aneurysm. This procedure is called endovascular stent grafting and is done by feeding a catheter through the blood vessels in the groin and expanding the graft in the compromised area of the aorta. This procedure is less invasive than the alternative open-abdominal aneurysm surgery and can reduce recovery time.
